John 19:30-34 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath. Because the Jewish leaders did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down. The soldiers therefore came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and then those of the other. But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. * As Jesus was dying on the cross, He cried out His last words: "It is finished." This means that by dying on the cross, Jesus fully atoned for the sins of humanity. He completed the work of human salvation that had been promised through many prophets since Genesis.
Genesis 3:15 "And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will strike your head, and you will strike his heel."
When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden and their souls died, God promised to come into the world in human flesh and die in place of all human sins. Jesus proclaimed the fulfillment of that promise as He passed away on the cross.
Galatians 4:4-5 "But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship."
God caused His Son to be born as the descendant of a woman and to die on the cross, redeeming humanity who had died due to the law, so that we might become children of God. Therefore, anyone who believes in the blood of Jesus and repents is forgiven, saved, becomes a child of God, and goes to heaven. The Son who redeemed the sins of humanity is God Himself; He is by no means a separately existing God. God, who existed as Spirit and Word, was born into the world in human flesh through Mary's body. God, born into the world with the name of the Son, is Jesus Christ. God's existence is never two or three; He is one. That is why the Bible always refers to Him as the only God.
Isaiah 7:14 "Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel."
All humans are conceived through the seed of a man, but Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit. The Son's name is "Immanuel," which means God is with us. Jesus being in the world meant that the Creator God lived directly among humans in human flesh.
Isaiah 9:6 "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
The Bible clearly states that Jesus Christ, born through Mary, is the Son of God, and that Son is ultimately the Creator God the Father Himself. The purpose of God being born as a human was to forgive human sins and save them. The entire Old Testament speaks of this. At the time appointed by the Lord, God was born as Jesus, and by dying on the cross, He fulfilled all those promises.
The way to salvation has been opened wide to all humanity through Jesus' grace of redemption. The way to forgiveness and heaven is open to everyone who repents. However, those who do not believe in Jesus and do not repent of their sins cannot be saved. That is why the first thing Jesus cried out was "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near."
John 20:21-23 Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." And with that he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven." * Jesus died on the cross and came back to life. The resurrected Jesus appeared to His disciples and said: "As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." This by no means means that there are two Gods. God, who existed as Spirit and Word, came into the world in the flesh and preached the Gospel to humans. Likewise, Jesus expressed that His disciples should be sent into the world to preach the Gospel of salvation that He taught. Jesus carried the sins of humanity and died on the cross to forgive them. This is the absolute grace and love of Jesus. Those who preach this Gospel of life must have a heart that forgives and loves others. One can preach the Gospel only by having the heart of Jesus Christ. Those who enlarge churches and minister to gain worldly benefit or honor can never be Jesus' disciples. A disciple of Jesus is one who sacrifices their own life to save the lives of others, abandons all pride and worldly greed, and preaches only the love of Jesus. This is by no means easy. It is impossible by human power and can only be done by receiving the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit comes, through His power, we can abandon worldly greed and human pride and clearly preach the Lord's salvation and love to the world. That is why the Lord told His disciples to receive the Holy Spirit. To receive the Holy Spirit, one must first repent. The Holy Spirit does not enter a dirty heart that does not repent of sin. Human doctrines do not teach repentance and obedience; they claim that if you attend church, you will unconditionally enter heaven. They have distorted the words of the Bible. Those who abandon the words of Jesus and follow human doctrines cannot receive the Holy Spirit because they live without repenting. Such church members only maintain a formal life of faith and fall into hell on the last day.
John 20:24-27 Now Thomas (also known as Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord!" But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe." A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe." * After Jesus died on the cross, He was resurrected as He promised. His disciples were hiding in one place, fearing the Jews who had killed Jesus. Then the resurrected Jesus appeared among them. Seeing this, the disciples were greatly surprised and joyful. At that time, Thomas, one of His disciples, was not with them alone. The disciples told him that Jesus had been resurrected. Thomas could not believe the news of Jesus' resurrection and said, "I must see the nail marks in Jesus' hands, put my finger in the nail marks, and put my finger in the wound in His side. Then I will believe that Jesus has been resurrected." And eight days later, Jesus appeared to them again. This time, Thomas was also with them. Jesus said to Thomas, "Thomas, put your finger in my hand and put it in my side. And believe in my resurrection. Stop being an unbeliever, and believe." Then Thomas believed in Jesus' resurrection.
John 20:28-29 Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!" Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."
After directly seeing the resurrected Jesus, Thomas confessed that Jesus is God. Until then, although he had traveled and preached with Jesus, he had not believed that Jesus was God Himself. Jesus said, "Blessed are those who have not seen me and yet have believed, more than those who see me and believe." We cannot see Jesus who was in the world now, but we believe in Jesus as our Savior. Today, those who obey Jesus' words receive more of the Lord's grace and love than those who saw and believed in Jesus then. Those who repent of their sins, receive the Holy Spirit, and live according to the guidance of the Holy Spirit receive a greater reward in heaven. The Holy Spirit is invisible to human eyes. However, the Holy Spirit works among us, helping us understand the Bible, pointing out sins to make us repent, and giving us the strength to obey the Lord's words. Those who obediently follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit receive blessings on this earth and live eternally with the Lord in heaven.
John 20:30-31
Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
Hebrews 1:1-2 In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.
That Son is the heir of all things and created the entire universe. The Creator God worked in the name of Jehovah in the Old Testament and came into the world as the Son to work in the last days. That Son is not the son of a man; He is God who created the entire universe. If God and the Son existed separately and God created the world and the Son also created the world, there would have to be two worlds. But there is only one universe. This leads to the conclusion that God the Father and the Son are not two, but one. The Creator God came into the world in the name of the Son to save humans, died in place of the sins of humanity, achieved the work of salvation, and ascended back to the throne of heaven. There is only one throne of God in heaven.
Believing in Jesus means obeying Jesus' words. Obeying Jesus means believing in Jesus as God, forgiving and loving one another based on Jesus' words, and always being forgiven by repenting of our deficient lives.
Being baptized, having many communion services, performing many religious rituals, and accumulating much biblical knowledge in your head does not mean you are saved; this is a dead faith. You must forgive others and receive the Lord's forgiveness, and always strive to practice the Lord's will. Doing so is a living faith that goes to heaven.
John 21:14-15
This was now the third time Jesus appeared to his disciples after he was raised from the dead. When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?" "Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my lambs." * After His resurrection, Jesus appeared to His disciples and ate bread and fish with them. The appearance of the resurrected Jesus is the appearance we will have in the future. We also will be changed like the body of the resurrected Jesus when we leave the world. Those who have received the resurrection of life will eat delicious food like the Lord and live transcending time and space.
Those who repent and obey on this earth will cast off their weak and tired bodies when they die and be changed into bodies that never tire, never get sick, and are strong. The resurrection of Jesus is a living hope for those with faith. Looking forward to that time, we must overcome any hardships and adversities of the world. Because the Holy Spirit is with us and helps us, we can follow the Lord's will. When Peter confessed his love for the Lord, the Lord said to him, "If you love me, feed my lambs." All servants of the Lord received the mission to feed the lambs like Peter. The lambs are God's people entrusted to the pastor. Servants of the Lord have the responsibility to teach God's word to the saints, set an example, and lead them to heaven. If the servants of the Lord do not realize the will of Jesus, they will perish together with the church members entrusted to them. The will of Jesus is to practice Jesus' love on this earth. Those who believe in Jesus as Savior believe the fact that there is no other savior besides Jesus, and they forgive their neighbors, do good, and achieve harmony. However, there is no one who obeys 100% of the Lord's will, so we all must repent and practice the Lord's commandment of love in our lives with all our hearts and strength. The servants of the Lord setting such an example and teaching Jesus' words is what it means to care for and feed Jesus' lambs.
